Do our values align with yours?

A “value” can be defined as a principle or standard of behavior. It can also be defined as what is important in someone’s life or business practice.

Many times, when someone is thinking of buying or selling a property they hire a real estate broker, or firm, based on a referral of someone they trust. This decision is often one of comfort if a trusted individual close to you makes the recommendation. However, how often do you investigate the company beyond reviews on Yelp, Trulia, etc.? How often do you dig deeper to understand what the company was founded on and what the individuals who work for the company pride themselves on?

We receive much of our business from referrals but we wanted to put together a post for those who may have been referred to us and want to understand more about our values before trusting Price & Co. with one of the biggest financial decisions one can make in life.

At Price & Co., we adhere to a set of values; both when we conduct business and in our personal, day-to-day lives.

Over the years, we have found that these set of values have developed out of one main principle – integrity. When the company was first founded, that was our only value. Over the course of thirty years, we have developed more and more pretenses that we conduct business on. If you are considering purchasing a home or selling your current home, we urge you to read our values and figure out if they align with your own expectations of a company you would trust your business to.

1. Integrity: In real estate, one of the most important things you should look for in a real estate broker is honesty. We believe that treating every person in the transaction fairly is the utmost important aspect of a successful real estate transaction. You wouldn’t want someone who wouldn’t be forthright in saying a home looks like it might need the roof replaced in less than a year or the windows are bad simply because they want to make a sale. Being a family oriented team, we feel it’s very important to adhere to the idea that if we wouldn’t feel comfortable selling the property to our family, we don’t feel comfortable selling it to you and we will tell you exactly that. If we feel a property has an issue, we will be honest and explain what the problem is.

2. Knowledge: We take pride in the fact that we have been in business over thirty years. We also know that you can never know too much which is why we take regular educational update classes to make sure we are always equipped with cutting edge knowledge of the industry. We pride ourselves on involvement in continuing education throughout our local board of REALTORS. On top of education, we bring knowledge of particular niches within the industry. For example, Andrea owns horses and has been riding for much of her life. She is well equipped to help any buyer purchase a horse property because she knows what is a desirable quality to have in a horse property. Wiley enjoys commercial transactions and his concurrent practice of law helps with many sticky situations that could arise in complicated transactions.

3. Excellence: We are here to serve you, the client. No demand is too big for us. We strive to go the extra mile to make you feel completely comfortable during the entire process of buying or selling. Which is why we each have one phone number and one e-mail address. We do not have any assistants that we will pass you off onto because we are too busy. You have each one of our cell phone numbers and we ask that you never hesitate to use it if you need something. We have a reputation of picking up our phones before it hits voicemail. We understand this is the most important purchase and we will be right next to you every step of the way.

We appreciate you taking the time to read what values we pride ourselves on. If you would like to know more about our company or any one of our individual brokers, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
